Learn How To Make Natural Vaseline At Home: Very Easy!

Did you know that the petroleum jelly we buy in stores is made from petroleum derivatives?

Far from being as natural and medicinal as we believe, the petroleum jelly that is marketed goes through different processes for its production.

Thus, it will always be more appropriate to make it at home with natural and healthy ingredients and take advantage of  its  many uses in our day to day life.

How can I make my own Vaseline at home?

If you like to make your own beauty products, we are sure that you are going to love having your natural Vaseline.

What I need?

  • 3o grams of beeswax. (You can find it in natural stores and specialized perfumeries).
  • 100 ml of olive oil.
  • 50 grams of cocoa or shea butter.
  • 3 drops of an essential oil, whichever you like best, such as rosehip oil.
  • A plastic or wooden spatula, never metal.
  • A previously sanitized glass jar.
  • A medium-sized pot where to prepare the cooking.

Preparation

  • We will start by putting the olive oil in our pot over low heat. It should be taking temperature in a moderate way, never suddenly.
  • Once it is hot, add the beeswax beads that you bought in the natural store. You will see that they are unraveling little by little.
The most important thing is that you allow it to go little by little, without ever raising the level of the fire since, otherwise, we would lose many of the natural components of the wax.
  • Go stirring with your plastic or wooden spatula.
  • When you notice that the beeswax has melted, add the cocoa or shea butter, whichever you have chosen.
  • As soon as you see that the beeswax, butter and olive oil have created a homogeneous liquid, you can remove the mixture from the heat.
  • Take the mixture to a glass jar that you will have prepared and previously disinfected.

And what do we do now? It is time to add those three drops of rosehip essential oil   or whatever you have chosen.

It is important that you do it when the mixture is no longer hot because, otherwise, the essential oil also loses many of its properties. Stir well so that it is unified.

Always have it at hand

You already have your homemade Vaseline ready! A totally natural cream with softening, soothing, antimicrobial, healing, and anti-inflammatory properties.

All these benefits are due, above all, to the properties of beeswax, so try to buy it in an establishment where they assure you that its origin is organic and completely reliable.

You don’t have to put it in the fridge. Vaseline by itself acquires a compact consistency that can last several weeks in perfect condition.

You will see how well you do! Feel free to make it yourself at home.
